Initial Assessment – Carried out prior to starting Apprenticeship to determine Numeracy, Literacy and existing level of competency.

Training – Carried out by the training provider and employer whilst the apprentice is on-programme to support the apprentice to learn the required knowledge, skills and behaviours for their job.

Numeracy / Literacy – Achieve Functional Skills qualifications (if required)

20% off the job Training – Training to promote further development, to be carried out during contracted hours but away from daily tasks, this must be evidenced and total at least 20% of an apprentices contracted hours.

Gateway – The point the minimum time on programme is achieved and the apprentice is deemed to have met the requirements of the Standard assessment plan.

End-Point Assessment – A final set of assessments to determine competency, carried out by an Independent End-Point Assessment Organisation.

Completion – Certificate issued when all end-point assessments are achieved – Grades of Pass, Merit or Distinction may be awarded.
