CIWM (WAMITAB) Assessment
CIWM (WAMITAB) believes in building meaningful relationships with stakeholders and uses the same personal and friendly, yet professional approach to end-point assessment that we use in our awarding organisation activities. This approach, coupled with our unrivalled sector knowledge makes CIWM (WAMITAB) Assessment the clear choice to partner your organisation for end-point assessment.
What is End-Point Assessment?
An end-point assessment is an independent assessment undertaken by an end-point assessment organisation to an apprentice at the end of their apprenticeship programme to demonstrate they have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet the occupational standard.
CIWM End-Point Assessment Organisation
CIWM is an approved end-point assessment organisation on the Apprenticeship Providers and Assessment Register (APAR) maintained by the Department for Education. This means that we are approved to deliver end-point assessments for the following apprenticeship standards:
- Waste Resource Operative (Level 2) (ST0545)
- Metal Recycling General Operative (Level 2) (ST0507)
- Safety, Health and Environment Technician (Level 3) (ST0550)
Choosing CIWM as your End-Point Assessment Organisation
We recommend that you appoint an end-point assessment organisation when an apprentice enrols on their apprenticeship standard so apprentices can be registered 6 months prior to Gateway for their EPA.

07/11/2024 Important Update from IfATE “the Waste Resource Operative apprenticeship (ST0545) is to be retired for new starts on 12 February 2025. The decision was made by the route panel and IfATE approvals committee as the apprenticeship suffered from high numbers of withdrawals and efforts to revise it were unsuccessful. Learners who are currently on programme will be able to complete their studies and we hope you will support them with their journey.
Although the apprenticeship is being retired, the occupation will remain on the Occupational Map. We are happy to have a conversation about the development of a revised occupational standard, apprenticeship or post-16 qualification should a new trailblazer group come forward.“
